Our story

Over 70 years of experience.
A lasting commitment to animal nutrition.

Bloom Products grew from John “Jack” Ronicker’s work in animal nutrition. His career began in livestock supplementation in 1954 and later led to the development of formulas for performance and breeding dogs. That work laid the foundation for the Bloom name familiar to animal owners today.

How Bloom began

An Ohio State University graduate in Animal Husbandry and Nutrition, Jack began his career formulating dietary supplements for the livestock industry. His work focused on the role vitamins and minerals play in animal diets.

Drawing on that experience, he turned his attention to canine nutrition in 1965, researching formulas for performance and breeding dogs. In 1970, he began marketing Bloom Products.

A lifetime of work

Jack’s work extended beyond developing formulas. He made it his mission to continue researching animal nutrition and sharing that knowledge with people caring for their dogs.

Bloom’s archived company history describes generations of dogs raised on its products and a following among professional dog operations, breeders and pet owners. That connection to everyday animal care remains part of the company’s story.
